Horizon’s commitment to financial literacy

We are proud to provide customer-owned banking to our members which means providing genuine financial advice and guidance that will improve financial literacy skills and benefit their overall financial wellbeing.

Financial literacy for Children

Like many of life’s lessons, introducing smart money habits when young assists children to carry these with them well into literacy

Horizon provides simple account balance sheets for our young super saver customers that allows children to keep track of their spending as they begin adding and subtracting from their savings.

Our online financial resource centre ‘savings squad’ is a great place for kids, teens and parents to improve their financial literacy by reading the tips on learning to save and tracking spending.

We understand that interactive learning can often be the most effective. That’s why since 2014 we’ve sponsored financial literacy programs in South Coast primary schools that use theatre and performance to teach the basics of money and saving.

Loan Preparation

By providing a number of online calculators to help you budget, work out your loan affordability plus much more, we're empowering members with the groundwork of knowledge they need before applying for a loan or making a significant purchase.
