National Privacy Principles
The National Privacy Principles regulate the way organisations collect, use, keep, secure and disclose personal information. It also gives individuals the right to know what information an organisation holds about them and a right to correct information if it's incorrect.
Why we need your Information?
When you become a Horizon Member, we ask you for information so that we can confirm your identification, establish accounts, and start a relationship where we can help you manage your finances. Our Mission Statement is to "Enhance our Members' Lifestyles" and this means introducing you to products and services that make your life easier. Some of the products and services we offer are supplied to us through other organisations; an example is insurances. Naturally, we will need to collect relevant information for those organisations as well.
Use of Information
We use your information to ensure security through identification verification. Your details also help us to understand your needs. We can therefore give you information on services and products that are relevant to you.
From time to time we may let you know about new services, products or promotions. If at any stage you don't want to hear from us about these things, you can contact us and make this request.
What Information will Horizon Disclose?
The information we collect from you is strictly confidential. We will not disclose your personal information to any third party, other than those who are contracted to us to keep the information confidential.
There may be some exceptional circumstances for disclosing your information, such as for law enforcement purposes.
How can you Access your Personal Information?
If you'd like to review the information we hold about you, please contact your local branch. If any information is incorrect we will amend it.
Complaints about Breaches of Privacy
If you believe your privacy has been breached by Horizon, you can lodge a complaint in writing to the address noted below and all attempts will be made to resolve the matter.
